S2PAfrica’s Engineering Design Competition sets the stage for a remarkable showcase of Africa’s innovation potential, as engineering students present their most compelling ideas and designs to solve some of the continent’s most pressing problems.
At our December Info Session, we will listen to two of our expert judges share critical insights from the wealth of their professional experiences, as well as on the competition categories they will be handling.
Mr. Tosin Tomori will share the unique opportunities for impact available to young African engineers who choose to remain within the shores of the continent. Dr. Eddie Diei will focus on a rather interesting comparison between the Nigerian engineering education system and what obtains in the United States.
If you’ve been curious about the foreign engineering terrain or wondering where you fit in, here’s an opportunity to learn the facts that help you judiciously weigh your options.
We will then share with you what a winning final submission for EDC 2022 should look like and conclude with an interactive session with our judges where you get to ask all your questions and get answers that equip you for success at this competition.
As always, our Info Sessions are open to Deans, HODs, professors, lecturers, parents, students, and everyone passionate to see a more proficient engineering ecosystem emerge in West Africa.
We welcome your feedback and look forward to addressing every question you bring as we work together to make EDC 2022 a resounding success.
Big thanks to all our attendees, competitors, judges, corporate and individual sponsors for making the first S2P Engineering Design Competition a success.
Huge congratulations to our 10 finalists and to team Koye Hydro who emerged ahead of over 40 teams as the Winner of the S2PAfrica EDC 2022, taking home $10,000 IDRC grand prize and $2000 from Cummins West Africa, to fund the development of their project as well as teams KeyTrick and Improved Charcoal Stove came in second and third respectively.
A new bar has been set and we can’t wait for EDC 2023.
