Dr. Eddie Diei

Dr. Edward Diei is an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer with a solid 30- year run of leadership and engineering practice working at Alliant Energy Corporation and General Electric Aviation and Healthcare, with a sterling record as a highly talented design and development engineer in the field of medical diagnostic equipment. During his time at Rockwell Automation, he served as Lean Enterprise Manager where he coached 16 project leaders to achieve Green Belt certification and savings of $2.9 million, led cross-functional teams to solve large complex problems that earned them consistent delivery of global annual Price Realization of ~1% of revenue (~ $65 million in FY14), and developed and delivered Lean Six Sigma Executive Awareness Training to 32 managers and executives in Finance, IT and Global Sales & Marketing, among several other achievements. A certified Project Management specialist and Lean Six Sigma Black belt/Master Black belt, Dr. Diei is currently the Managing Principal at LeanTech Solutions, LLC where he specializes in Business Consulting, Big Data Analytics and Continuous Process improvement serving clients across continents. He recently completed a 6-course Big Data Specialization by University of California, San Diego, through Coursera. The core of his practice lies in engaging with business leaders to identify gaps in process capabilities, create project roadmaps, and deliver solutions that achieve strategic goals in product and service excellence. His record of success leading Continuous Improvement programs spans Finance, Pricing, Information Technology, Manufacturing, and Engineering operations. His unique interests have led him to master the critical skill of business performance and process optimization using Six Sigma and Lean improvement methods, Machine Learning techniques, team building, training and mentoring.

Huge congratulations to our 10 finalists and to team  Koye Hydro who emerged ahead of over 40 teams as the Winner of the S2PAfrica EDC 2022, taking home $10,000 IDRC grand prize and $2000 from Cummins West Africa, to fund the development of their project as well as teams KeyTrick and Improved Charcoal Stove came in second and third respectively.

A new bar has been set and we can’t wait for EDC 2023.
